A week at the Double E Buffalo & Cattle Ranch in the high country of southwest New Mexico offers you an opportunity to learn some of the ropes at this working ranch. Plenty of open space, blue skies, and sunshine invite you to be a part of ranch life. Whether you are feeding the animals, looking up at the night sky, talking and working with ranch manager, Debbie Eggleston, or doing an overnight back-country horseback trip, you will have a vacation that is EXTRAORDINARY. You will meet some wonderful people, have the opportunity to challenge yourself by learning a new skill or activity, and have a treasure of sensations and memories that will last long after your experience ends.

Double E Ranch is a cattle ranch consisting of 30,000 acres with backcountry that can only be worked from horseback. The horses receive excellent care and training; even a novice rider like myself can feel confident. Our ride into the backcountry will be to check up on the cattle and horses. It will bring us close to nature where the desert bighorn sheep, deer, eagles, and javelinas live. Mimbres Indian ruins are also on the property. Historically, this is Apache country. Geronimo, Mangas, and Cochise gave formidable cause for the US Army to build a concentration of forts in southwestern New Mexico and Arizona.

This Adventure Package includes:

2 nights lodging (double occupancy) in Albuquerque at the Wyndham Hotel near airport.

Transportation to and from the Double E Ranch

6 nights of cabin accommodations

All meals while on the ranch

Horse & tack, riding lessons, 4 half day rides

Overnight back-country horseback trip

1 day in Silver City for visiting the Museum and shopping

ITINERARY:

Day 1, 8:00 AM: Leave Albuquerque's Wyndham Hotel. We will arrive at the Double E Ranch in the afternoon.

Day 2: Meet your horse, saddle-up for a ride, explore the ranch.

Day 3: Grooming your horse, half-day ride.

Day 4: Backcountry trip, overnight camping.

Day 5: Return from backcountry trip.

Day 6: Ranch Day

Day 7: Silver City, Museum and shopping day.

Day 8 10:00 AM: Leave Double E Ranch. We will arrive in Albuquerque late afternoon.

FEES and REFUND: The total cost for The Ranch Adventure is $1195.00 per person. Reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total fee for the group. The Full balance is due 60 days prior to adventure. Refunds minus a $50 per person cancellation fee, is refundable up to 60 days before adventure's beginning. No refunds after the 60-day prior to adventure's beginning date. No cost deductions are made if you provide your own tack, transportation, or pre- and post-ranch adventure lodging.
